H is for Horseback Riding

Welcome to day 8 of the Blogging A-Z April Challenge, 2013!  Each day in April (except Sundays) I will be posting here, and the posts will be in alphabetical order!  This blog is all about my journey to weight loss / good health & fitness.

For some shameless self-promotion, I have 2 other blogs in the challenge, too.
Check them out!
Maple Grove Cemetery - Halloween related, but don't worry - no gore.
Random Ramblings - lives up to its name.  Totally random.

"There's something about the outside of a horse that's good for the inside of a man." ~Sir Winston Churchill.

Horseback Riding has physical, mental and psychological benefits.  There is more to it than sitting there in the saddle & holding the reins.  Different muscle groups are required to adjust your balance as the horse moves. You must be alert to your surroundings, and alert to the horse beneath you.  It builds self-esteem and a sense of responsibility.

Horseback riding can also help the disabled.  Horseback riding is one of the more progress forms of therapy, working toward cognitive, physical, emotional, social, educational, and behavioral goals.

And besides....it's fun!

Or, if you're not an outdoorsy type person - you can always try this!

I wonder if Psy thought of Gangman style dancing after using this? ;)

    1. I did the same thing when I first saw it. Then I promptly saved the link so I'd be able to use it for this challenge!
